Tara and Dave’s wedding will always hold a special place in my heart for many reasons. Not only were they an absolute joy to work with, Dave and Tara have been so supportive throughout my own personal journey with Particular Planner. Their kindness and openess is something I will never forget! It was also SO evident from the beginning of our journey working together how kind and special their love was towards each other.
Dave and Tara met on St. Patrick’s Day in 2015 and were married on March 24, 2018 at the beautiful Rotunda at Lauxmont Farms – an 1,800 acre active horse farm. At their wedding, their maid-of-honor mentioned in her speech that when she and Dave first met, they didn’t have much time to talk and when she expressed this to Dave at the end of that night, he replied with “don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere”. How is that for confidence?! Not to mention a pretty powerful first impression on your future bride’s best friend! Tara and Dave have something truly special.
When we met to discuss day-of services, I could see that Tara was in her element! A natural DIYer, she had a vision for every last detail — from the placard holders to the centerpieces, the welcome sign and guestbook table – she had a clear wedding vision. It was important to her that her hard work would be executed with her overall vision and we kept that in mind as we continued to collaborate. So, when the weather was throwing us some curveballs (actually, snowballs!), my first concern was that a lot of her decor was going to be compromised. Nowadays, it seems like every month has their own weather challenges, but March has become the month of the unknown! You could have 70 degree weather or a foot of snow falling. Tara and Dave planned for an outdoor ceremony but after a foot of snow just days before their I Do’s, it wasn’t until 24 hours before the wedding we were certain that our initial plans were going to be executed. It took constant communication with the venue and tent company, many phone calls and email exchanges, but in the end, it all worked out and the scenery was even more beautiful than anticipated. Inside, the room was decorated with luscious greenery, beautiful arrangements, and lots of candles to add that intimate feeling.
